The Tennessee Honeybee Wedding: The Vendors

Whew! It’s been over a month since our wedding and I’ve barely had time to breathe, much less write it all down. So, here I am sitting next to my gorgeous HUSBAND (wow, still kind of unreal to say that!) finally getting the chance to put some of it on the page.

First up is thanking all our vendors. For those who weren’t aware, we did our wedding in two parts. We had our wedding ceremony with a small reception in Florida and then 2 weeks later, we had a big party in Nashville. So, I’m thanking people who live and work far and wide but here goes:

First, I thank our families! Specifically our parents. Thank you to my mother and step-father for hosting us and our Florida reception. Not only did they open their home, they cooked everything we ate that special day with help from my godmother, who made the trip in from New Orleans. Thank you to my mother-in-law and my father-in-law for providing financial support and for providing all of the liquor for our Nashville party. Without family, we are nothing and both Racer K and I are SO incredibly thankful for the amazing families we have and all their support putting on these spectacles. Also, thank you to my father, step-mother, and my siblings who traveled from Mexico to be with us and for their support throughout our wedding weekend!

Second, I thank our amazing photographers. Sarah Lyn Photography in Ft Walton Beach took our wedding day pictures. Not only were they kind and efficient, the pictures turned out gorgeous!

In Nashville, we had Courtney Davidson Photography. Courtney was able to be in the midst of our cadre of drunken, happy Nashvillains and still be out of the way while capturing some great action shots.

Third, I want to thank our bakers. Wow, did we get lucky with the amazing bakers we selected! I have never had such rich buttercream and moist cake as with these two! In Florida, we put our trust in a friend of a friend who had never made a wedding cake before. I know, that was a big leap to make for your wedding but I trusted the judgment of my friend, as I had been at her wedding ten years earlier, and the baker, Angel Moore, was super sweet and her cake turned out the same.

That’s our beautiful little cake with our TARDIS cake topper. Yes, we had Doctor Who sprinkled throughout. Little known fact is that one thing that drew me back to my K was his use of the phrase, “Allons-y” one night at a group dinner. Anyhow, this cake was so moist and so tasty… we had a hard time leaving what little remained in Florida when we left after our mini-moon but for those few days, we certainly enjoyed it!

Our baker in Nashville was love East Nashville business, Nashville Sweets. We love supporting local businesses and this one is within walking distance of our home! When we went for our tasting, we left there on a serious sugar high but so pleased with our order and the finished product was more than we ever could have expected!

We enjoyed those cupcakes for about a week following with what we had leftover and gifted others to friends and coworkers but they were so decadent and moist! We had vanilla with buttercream, strawberry with cream cheese, and some chocolate cake with mocha frosting and salted caramel filling. Overwhelmingly awesome doesn’t even cover it!

In Florida, our caterers were our families who cooked all the food. In Nashville, we had Menu Maker Catering. They were SO easy to work with and the food was delicious (thankfully so, since we ate leftovers for about a week following our event since we erred on the side of too much food rather than not enough). We don’t have any awesome pictures of all the food but we had sliders, brie and onion quesadillas, and stuffed potatoes plus a cheese and fruit tray. It was all great but everyone agreed, the potatoes stuffed with blue cheese and bacon were the STARS!

Then we come back to our people. The help of our best man and matron of honor was INVALUABLE!! They did SO much to help us on our special day and throughout the whole planning process. K’s best man, Vanessa, donated so much of what we used and we had the great joy of passing our excess on to another dear friend who is getting married later this year after our events were over.

Vanessa, I’m so glad I can call you “sister” now and without you, all of this wouldn’t have come together so seamlessly.

In Florida and Nashville, in from Colorado each time, my matron of honor was my rock! She’s also my bestie, so I’m doubly blessed. She threw me an awesome bachelorette party, complete with penis straws (and my groom), and was at every event. I’m so grateful she could be a part of my most special moment, especially after she’d heard me go on and on about K for years.

Evidence of the aforementioned penis straws! I look good in a tiara, don’t I?!

So, from Mr and Mrs TNHoneybee, we say “Thank You!” to everyone who helped make our wedding so incredibly special!!
