Everything Except the Kitchen Sink

Infertility tends to drive us women mad! I’m a part of several online groups for support and pretty much, once we get several months in, much less several years, we are willing to try ANYTHING! As I said in my previous post about this journey, I’ve gone so far as to try crystals. Do they work? I have no idea but at least they are pretty. I now sleep with rose quartz and amethyst next to my bed.

The other day, a dear old friend of mine recommended something I’d never heard about but has been around for ages: Lydia Pinkham. Since it is supposed to generally balance hormones, I figured, why not add it to the mix? Since this came to me from another friend going through the often difficult journey towards baby (or babies), I thought I’d share my current fertility regimen, in case there are others out there who need some new information. I’ve done lots of research and I’ve previously seen a naturopath, so these are my informed choices. They may not work for you, they may be in incorrect doses and the all-around effectiveness may not pan out. We shall see. As always, I am not a doctor and you should consult your physician before making changes to your own supplement regimen.

We are still months away from seeking professional help but I figure we need a few months trying to get our bodies to do what biology intends so we can naturally create life. Since we are facing both male and female factors (infertility is not a woman’s condition, it equally affects both partners across the board), I have my husband on a new regimen to get his little dudes ready to go:

  • Zinc: we use BioZinc liquid
  • L-Arginine
  • CoQ10: this is also for heart health, as is the L-Arginine.
  • Extra Vitamin C

For me, it gets a bit more complicated but I am also trying to naturally heal my rather heavy depression since my sister’s death. While my Open Heart tea certainly helped, it has since run out and I have never quite gotten my spark back. I’m hoping these combinations will assist me in coming back to life, as well as give us our baby:

  • Vitamin E: 400mg
  • Vitamin C: 619mg
  • CoQ10: 200mg
  • Krill Oil
  • Pure Encapsulations 950 with Vitamin K
  • Lydia Pinkham: 1 tbsp- before ovulation (supposed to sway towards GIRLS!)
  • Royal Jelly: 1 tbsp, twice a day
  • Vitamin D: 200iu
  • Vitamin B Complex: take during the day, can affect sleep
  • Emerita Bio-identical progesterone cream- after ovulation
  • Baby aspirin
  • Magnesium taurate
  • Feverfew
  • Zinc: 7 drops

See? I really am willing to try take everything except the kitchen sink! I had previously tried borage oil, evening primrose oil, vitex, and others, but for now, this is what I’m going with. We are also eating healthier and working out a bit more. Things are stressful with the move but I have this feeling that something just needs to move into place for us to finally have the family we want.
