Challenges

First off, check out my current hair color!

So pretty and ready for spring!

Let’s get into it though…

I have 3 half marathons planned for this year and haven’t run a single mile in 2019. However, I was doing great working out using 3 different 30 day challenges to motivate me: plank, squats and lunges, and meditation. Then, about 10 days ago, I caught the flu! Booooo!

I tested positive for Flu A after my brain was swabbed. If you’ve had the flu test, you know what I’m talking about. However, I went to the doctor early enough to get Tamiflu and wow! That stuff is great! This is why I should stop sucking it up and letting colds and the flu drag on without help. I caught it all early enough not to get my bronchioles all inflamed too, so I’m not hacking with a cough for months after the fact. Apparently seeing a doctor is a good thing. Hmmm… novel idea.

So, though I was 20 days into my challenges, I had to stop. I’m planning to pick up where I left off starting today to finish strong on all 3. Running…well, I guess I should start before it gets too warm outside.

Also, I’ve been realizing that not everyone has quite the same strength of opinions as I do. I’m a person who knows what I like and don’t like. I seemed to shock someone recently when I said I don’t go to movie theaters. I just don’t. Haven’t been to see a movie in theaters since The Deathly Hallows part 2 was released. Not much sounds fun to me about spending loads of money (remember when going to the movies was cheap?) to sit in a crowded room with a bunch of other people’s rude children (grown and small alike) kicking my chair or making noise, while watching a movie I can’t pause if I need to use the restroom. Some people dig that. Not me.

I also don’t like games- not board games, card games, or video games. When I’m with people, I’d rather really talk with them and get to know their souls. Also, most video games seem to create pretty anti-social, maladjusted folk. Don’t get your panties in a bunch if you happen to like games and don’t think you’re a maladjust. This is just my opinion.

Not everyone shares my boundaries or opinions and I’m cool with that. People just seem to want to convince me otherwise about mine and after 4 decades of life, I’m pretty cool with where my boundaries lay.

Otherwise, life is quiet. Yes, still moving. Yes, still waiting on my job to get on board with that. It could be a month or it could be a year and I just have to roll with it. Not easy to do for a planner. Also, I’m ready to be home. Nola is waiting for me.
