The immediate response of those who have heard my sister’s story has been, “I’m so sorry. Please let me know if I can do anything.” For the last year and especially the last few days, I’ve had no answer for how anyone can help. I’ve found one.

Please consider donating to my sister’s GiveForward fundraising campaign. I set it up to help with the costs my sister and mother face when travelling 7 hours each way to the Moffitt Cancer Center, to help with supporting my sister’s two young children (8 and 6), and to cover any residual medical costs not covered by my sister’s coverage under her clinical trial. Any small amount will help. Perhaps forego your morning fancy coffee just one day and donate $5 or if you are able to and feeling moved to do so, $50 or more would be greatly appreciated.
We all know that gas prices are tremendous these days plus hotel costs and food on the road, not to mention the school supplies and expenses the children have because my sister is not able to work while ill and undergoing treatments… all these things add up. My mother has been working hard to support the needs of my sister and her children, along with some help from the childrens’ father and my father, but a small family with limited means can only do so much under the weight of the mounting costs of these treatments and the travel to get to them. We face uncertain times as a new course of treatment will be planned later this week but we know that surgery, radiation, and/or chemotherapy may come into play.
Any small donation is greatly appreciated. No one wants to face such a terrible disease and we all feel helpless and tired as we are in the second year of this battle as the cancer progresses. Help us, if you can. Gifts of love and support are always appreciated.
In advance, I thank you for your support in whatever way you can offer it. I honor whatever sacrifice you may make to give this support and accept it with the intention you give it.
