So, years ago when I set up this website, I actually had wanted the first post to be just what this will be: me singing. Life being what it was, it didn’t happen and time passed… years passed and I never got around to doing what I wanted to do. I changed that today.
With Independence Day and my birthday approaching, I thought this would be a good song to start with. I adore Paul Simon and I have always felt strongly about this particular song. This song is on the low end of my register so I struggled a little but no one’s perfect. It also took me about a million tries to get it right… ok, about 15. Funny to forget the words to a song you’ve known for a few decades but nerves will do that. This is also in preparation for my audition later this year for the Denver Women’s Chorus. I am super excited to perform again!
I had to compress the video to get it to upload, so I’m hoping it won’t be degraded too much. Also, the autofocus is just an aspect of the camera. Lets admit it, I’m not great with technology.
