Ok, second post of the new year. Not too shabby, despite the long 4 month break in between. Tonight I recorded a new little video of me singing because I just finished my first (definitely not my last) season with the Denver Women’s Chorus. It was truly a lovely experience to perform on stage again but more so to make friends with so many wonderful women.
So, coming home from our last performance for the season, I pulled into a park near my home because I just wanted to get this out. It isn’t perfect. It’s a bit dark and yes, there’s a wee mistake in it but that’s okay. That’s how it goes sometimes- you can’t be perfect in all you do but you still have to give it all you have. Since I was singing since 2pm today and this was recorded at 10pm, I think my phrasing and such are just a product of being tired. I could wait to post it until I have some perfect version, but I’ve been wanting to do this one for a while and lately, I’ve been having some big emotions, so it seemed fitting. Plus, Florence is everything. Oh, and it’s currently snowing, so there’s that to inspire a big musical number.
*This is an abridged version. Song and lyrics by Florence Welch.
