The last few days have been insane! Since applying for my transfer, I’ve gone away to chorus retreat in Estes Park, came home, worked a day, and have attended a handful of appointments. Just way too much rushing.
In all of that, I’ve had some troubling news plus some unsettling feelings as I realize that it will be very soon that I leave behind my dear friends, my chorus, and this gorgeous state I love. Colorado is amazing and if New Orleans was in Colorado, that would be great but I’m on a path and I’m going to follow it.
In practice over the weekend, a particular line stuck out to me as our lovely director drilled us on the piece we will be performing at Carnegie Hall in June with the New York Gay Men’s Chorus. The last few days really made this line find its place in my heart, as my friends have stepped up to support me while I’m still reeling from the prospect of so much change. So, I recorded it to share with all you fine people.
Also, if a chorus in your local area is performing Quiet No More, you really should get out to see it. If you’re in New York City for Pride, please join us at Carnegie Hall on June 27th for this incredibly moving performance. Bring tissues. Tickets can be purchased here.
