The prompt for Day 8 was to rewrite/ riff off a famous poem. So, I used In My Sky at Twilight by Pablo Neruda.
In my sky at dawn you are like the sun and your face is bright
I am yours, I am yours, man with gentle eyes
and in your heart my infinite dreams bloom
The radio of my mind spills about your head
The long miles are shorter beside you
Oh singer of my morning call,
how joined lives reveal me to be yours
I am yours, I am yours, I go singing to the day’s audience
and this audience answers my call
Plunderer of the depths of my soul,
your gain calms my endless wander
as though it were a soothing balm
I am caught in your casting of promises, of love,
and you’ve cast them as deep as the ocean
Upon your face, within your soul,
My future begins.
